What it is

Is there a hard bottom underneath?
Yes. The footwell section has a hard bottom, so it holds its shape instead of sagging when a big dog stands or steps down into it. That is the part most hammock-style covers leave as loose fabric. It is still a surface protector, not a crash-tested restraint — keep using a harness.

So what makes it different from a $30 cover?
Coverage. A basic cover protects the bench and stops there. This one adds a 54 cm footwell flap, 49 cm flaps over both door sills and door cards, a panel up the backs of your front seats, a mesh centre window, and a zip that converts it for passengers. The fabric is much the same across the category; what varies is how much of the car it reaches.

What's the mesh window for?
Two things. Your dog can see you, which settles a lot of dogs that hate being shut behind a solid sheet of polyester. And air actually moves front to back instead of stopping at a wall.

Fit

Will it fit my vehicle?
One size, 152 × 143 cm (59.9 × 56.3 in). Measure across your rear bench from door sill to door sill — under 143 cm and it fits properly. Most benches are 125–140 cm. Full detail on the fit guide.

I drive a full-size truck. Does it still work?
Yes. The bench is covered either way; the side flaps just sit higher on the sills because the cabin is wider.

Can I still fold my rear seats down?
You'll need to unhook it first. That takes under a minute and it folds flat.

Using it

How long does fitting take?
About two minutes the first time, under thirty seconds after that. Headrest straps and seat anchors, no tools.

Can a person sit back there with it fitted?
Yes. Unzip the middle, fold the rear half back, and one or two people can sit with the seat still protected. You don't have to take the whole thing out.

Can my dog be belted in?
Yes — there are openings for the seat-belt buckles so you can clip in a harness. For any dog travelling on a seat we'd recommend a crash-tested harness.

Will my dog slide around?
The quilted face grips far better than bare leather or vinyl, and the supported base gives your dog something solid to stand on. Under hard braking a dog can still shift — a harness through the seat-belt opening is the proper fix.

Two dogs, one back seat?
Usually fine. It spans the full bench. It protects the space you have; it doesn't create more of it.

Cleaning & care

How do I clean it after a muddy walk?
Let it dry, knock the loose dirt off, wipe it down. For anything worse, unhook it and machine wash cold, then hang dry.

Can I tumble dry it?
Please don't. Heat degrades the waterproof layer. Hang drying takes a few hours.

Will it hold smells?
The waterproof face doesn't absorb, so odour has much less to cling to than upholstery or a fabric-only cover.

Protection

Will it protect leather seats?
Yes. It covers the seat completely and the backing is non-abrasive, so leather is shielded rather than rubbed.

Does it really cover the doors?
Both sides, 49 cm down, with handles and window switches still reachable. Door cards are among the most expensive interior panels to refinish and most covers in this range ignore them entirely.

Is it genuinely waterproof or just water-resistant?
The face is waterproof. Standing water sits on the surface rather than soaking through to your seat.
